Stephen Ira Adler (born March 23, 1956) served as the 58th Mayor of Austin, Texas from January 6, 2015 to January 6, 2023. A Democrat, he was the first mayor elected under Austin's new 10-1 geographic district council system, winning the inaugural 2014 mayoral race and earning reelection in 2018. Term-limited out in 2022, he was succeeded by Kirk Watson.
