**Michael Dean Johnson** is the 56th Speaker of the House (elected October 25, 2023; re-elected January 3, 2025). Born January 30, 1972, Shreveport, Louisiana. Louisiana State University (BS Business Administration), LSU Law Center (JD). Constitutional attorney before Congress. U.S. Representative from Louisiana's 4th District (2017-present). Former Vice Chairman - this position was held before becoming Speaker. As Speaker, Johnson stepped down from committee assignments per House rules, but maintains influence over committee composition and legislation.
