Chris Camillo

Chris Camillo is a self-taught retail trader, the author of Laughing at Wall Street (2011), and the co-host of the Dumb Money YouTube channel (not related to the 2023 film). He turned an initial ~$20,000 stake into a personal portfolio widely reported at $20–60M+ using a strategy he calls Social Arbitrage — spotting shifts in cultural behavior and consumer trends in real time, buying the public companies affected before Wall Street analysts build those trends into their models, and selling when the trend becomes a Bloomberg headline. He did this from outside any Wall Street institution, with no finance degree, and made his name by publicly documenting the trades on YouTube.
