Bill Perkins

Bill Perkins is a Houston-based energy-trading hedge-fund manager (Skylar Capital Management, ~$500M AUM as of 2023), the author of Die With Zero (2020), a high-stakes poker player, and a film producer. He played football at the University of Iowa, moved to Houston in 1995 to trade electricity derivatives during the Texas deregulation wave, and has cycled through trading desks at El Paso Energy, Statoil, AIG Energy Trading, and Zahr Securities before founding Skylar. The Wall Street Journal once called him the "Last Cowboy" — a reference to both his directional energy bets and his refusal to hedge his personal choices.
