Bill Nelson — NASA Administrator

**William Alden Nelson II** served as the **Administrator of NASA** from 2021 to 2025, appointed by President Biden. Before NASA, he represented Florida's 11th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives for 6 terms (1979-1991) and served as a U.S. Senator from Florida for 3 terms (2001-2019). He is the only sitting member of Congress to have flown in space, serving as a payload specialist aboard Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-61-C) in January 1986.
